Kohler’s Taste of Scotland Event at the American Club, Wisconsin

To all our followers in North America who enjoy a Taste of Scotland we thought we’d mention Destination Kohler putting Scotland on a pedestal at the Kholer Taste of Scotland event on Saturday, April 8th – a day dedicated to the birthplace of golf, whisky and all things Scottish at the American Club at the Village of Kohler, Wisconsin.

Spirited culinary-focused events include a scotch and beer tasting event at The Horse & Plow, an educational Scotch tasting seminar at The Winery Bar and an evening dinner and movie preview of “Tommy’s Honour” hosted at The Whistling Straits clubhouse. Brave souls are encouraged to wear their kilts for the resort’s traditional Cèilidh.

Timed to coincide with Tartan Day celebrations on April 6th, Kholer’s ‘Taste of Scotland’ is a tribute to the heritage and a celebration of the sister property of Destination Kohler – The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa located in the birthplace of golf, St. Andrews, Scotland.

During Kohler’s ‘Taste of Scotland’ weekend, the Horse & Plow will be transformed into the Jigger Inn, the famous pub at Kholer’s Old Course Hotel, St Andrews, This will form an authentic backdrop for a lively musical evening on Friday night, as well as Saturday’s Dram and Draft, a scotch whisky and beer demo. Enjoy sipping premier Scotch whiskies including Macallan, Glenfiddich and Balvenie at a seminar in The Winery Bar covering The Heritage Scotch Tasting and Its Impact Around the World.

Top off the day with an extraordinary four-course dinner of Scottish fare created by Whistling Straits Head Chef Dan Dries. A pre-dinner cocktail reception will feature traditional Scottish entertainment and a pre-release showing of Tommy’s Honour, winner of British Academy Scotland Film Award’s Best Feature. This film tells the story of the challenging relationship between Tom and Tommy Morris, the dynamic father-son team who ushered in the modern game of golf.

Finally, what would a trip to Scotland be without a round of golf? Book a tee time to play a virtual round on the Old Course at Kohler Swing Studio.
