St Andrews Festival Tasting features Scotland’s Finest Foods

St Andrews Festival have announced a special food and wine event ‘A Taste of Scotland’  for their forthcoming celebrations – part of the year of Food & Drink Scotland 2010.

Scotland’s finest foods will be matched alongside a selection of fine wines from around the world hosted by Rose Murray Brown, Master of Wine.  The event will take place on Friday 26 November 2010 in the luxurious surroundings of the world famous Fairmont St Andrews.

Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Champagne Joseph Perrier on arrival at 7pm. They will enjoy delicacies including Salar’s flaky smoked salmon, Loch Fyne organic smoked salmon, Inverawe smoked trout, Rannoch’s smoked venison, Anster cheese, Highland Fine Strathdon blue cheese, Cromarty cheese, Fisher & Donaldson pastries and chocolates  alongside wines from Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Australia and New Zealand.

Rose will be joined by speakers including cheesemaker Jane Stewart of Anster cheese, Lesley Robertson of Salar salmon and Sandy Milne of patisserie Fisher & Donaldson.

There will be an opportunity for participants to try to win a Kelly Bronze Turkey (worth £50) and a 12 bottle case of Chilean wines – at the end of the evening.
