Martin Wishart is AA Chef of the Year 2010

martin wishart edinburghScottish chef Martin Wishart, the owner of Edinburgh’s first Michelin starred restaurant, has been awarded the AA Chef’s Chef of the Year 2010 award by his culinary peers.

The coveted accolade, decided by the UK’s AA Rosette-awarded chefs , was presented at that AA Hospitality awards at the London Hilton Park Lane on September 27th.

On receiving the award, Wishart said he believed his restaurant’s style of cooking and consistency was what inspired the chefs to give him the award.

Martin Wishart opened his acclaimed restaurant in Edinburgh with his wife Cecile in 1999.  The restaurant holds four AA rosettes and earned its Michelin star, Edinburgh’s first, in 2001. The Martin Wishart Cook School opened in 2009 and this year Martin opened his new Restaurant at Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond.

Martin aims to strengthen Scotland’s reputation for good food and to encourage others with his enthusiasm for cooking.
